ultimate wedding Photography shot list

This post is intended to give you a guideline of what to expect from your photographer - ME -   when capturing the best wedding images for you. Although no wedding is like another, and the list can and will vary from wedding to wedding, you can typically expect the following as a starting point of a wedding gallery. That does not mean the photographer will only capture what is in the list; the opportunities vary and the creativity flows differently in each circumstance; however, there are many moments you don’t want to miss that are pretty consistent for most weddings and these moments will allow you to relive your most special day. This list is very typical for most pro photographers but it is important to discuss with your photographer as some may be more or less of importance to you. In addition, your wedding may have specific items that are not typical of every wedding. It is very important to communicate about special requests.

Here are some categories:

  • Detail Shots - Rings (engagement and wedding bands), shoes, flowers, invitations, wedding dress, venue, Ceremony site, reception hall and decoration.
  • Getting ready Bride & Groom - Bride - make up shots, getting in dress, putting shoes, perfume shot, Groom - groomsmen hanging around or doing a toast, putting the tie, boutonniere placement, Groomsmen helping groom getting ready, mirror shot
  • First look - Or first touch
  • Portraits - Bride and groom portraits, Bride and bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen, bridal party portraits, family photos.
  • Ceremony - Guests entering the site, Bride getting down the aisle, ring exchange, first kiss, exit the aisle - Confetti toss, flower toss, bubbles,
  • Reception - Grand Entrance, first dance, bouquet toss, garter, toast
  • Exit - Sparklers, last kiss, etc.

One sad truth, your wedding will be over far too soon. Here's the good news:  At this point this list is tattooed on my mind. I take my job very seriously and I am hired specifically to preserve all of your most important memories, and my one priority is to capture every incredible moment and each carefully chosen detail so that you can relive the big day for years to come.
